International Women’s Day 2025: Power in Every Frame

This year, I had the privilege of photographing International Women's Day Celebration, at St Jude with St Aidan Church for the second time. This church holds a special place in my heart. It’s a space where community, faith, and creativity have all quietly shaped who I am. Being able to return - not just as a member of the congregation, but as a photographer - feels like a full-circle moment I didn’t know I needed.

Photographing this event wasn’t about posing or performance. It was about presence. Each woman brought her own energy, her own story, and her own version of strength. There was laughter, moments of stillness, and so many instances where the camera clicked and I thought, “Yes. That’s her.” I wanted each image to reflect truth: the quiet power, the bold softness, the stories written in expressions and stances. My job was just to honour it.

It was a reminder of why I do what I do. Photography, for me, has always been about connection—and this event reminded me how vital it is to create spaces where people feel safe to show up as themselves. To every woman who stood in front of my camera that day and has supported me in my journey as a photographer: thank you.

Let’s keep seeing each other. And celebrating, always.
